About the Firm
A virtual firm built on clarity, accuracy, and trust
Neese Financial LLC exists to make taxes and accounting understandable — and to stand between you and the stress of the IRS.

Our story
Neese Financial LLC was founded in Maryland on a simple observation: small business owners and individuals deserve the same caliber of tax expertise that large companies enjoy — without the overhead, the commute, or the intimidation.
As a fully virtual firm led by an Enrolled Agent, we work with clients across Maryland and throughout the United States by video, phone, and secure client portal. Our practice concentrates on small business and individual tax preparation, bookkeeping, accounting services, and tax resolution.
Whether you are launching an LLC, managing rental properties, catching up on bookkeeping, or responding to an IRS letter, you get direct access to a credentialed professional who knows your file — not a call center.
How we work
Four principles guide every engagement, from a simple 1040 to a complex resolution case.
Accuracy first
Every return and every set of books is prepared carefully and reviewed thoroughly. Details matter — especially to the IRS.
Education over jargon
We explain what we are doing and why, in plain English, so you can make confident decisions about your money.
Compliance focused
We follow the rules, document our work, and keep you on the right side of federal and state requirements.
Responsive & year-round
Taxes do not only happen in April. We are available all year for questions, notices, and planning.
Credentials Explained
What is an Enrolled Agent?
An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally licensed tax practitioner who specializes in taxation and is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. It is the highest credential the IRS awards.
Federally licensed
Enrolled Agents are licensed directly by the U.S. Department of the Treasury — not by any single state — so they can serve taxpayers in all 50 states.
Unlimited representation rights
EAs have unlimited practice rights before the IRS. They can represent any taxpayer, on any tax matter, before any IRS office — the same right held by CPAs and attorneys.
Rigorous examination
The EA credential requires passing a comprehensive three-part IRS examination covering individual and business taxation and representation — or qualifying through IRS service experience.
Ongoing education & ethics
EAs must complete 72 hours of continuing education every three years and adhere to the ethical standards of Treasury Circular 230.
Why it matters for you: unlike preparers without a credential, an Enrolled Agent can speak to the IRS on your behalf — responding to notices, negotiating payment plans, and representing you in an audit — so you never have to face the IRS alone.
